88th Annual Galax Old Fiddler’s Convention

Before the second weekend in August each year, lovers of country and mountain music leave their homes in time to be in Galax, VA for the Annual Old Fiddler’s Convention. For some this means hundreds of miles of travel, while for others it will be a short trip from their nearby homes. Most of these people don’t play music, and come just for the listening and renewing old acquaintances.
Running from August 5th through the 10th, The Fiddler’s Convention brings visitors from across the country and the world to enjoy old-time and bluegrass music, competitions, jams and vendors. Visitors can camp at Felts Park on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are $10 Tuesday through Friday and $15 Saturday, children under 12 are free. Week passes are available.
