Mt. Rogers Scenic Byway

Mt. Rogers Scenic Byway is a 60 mile trip which takes approximately 3 hours to drive and has two parts leading right through the Mt. Rogers National Recreation Area. Using this route you can access the Appalachian National Scenic Trail as well as the Virginia Creeper National Recreational Trail. Along the way are opportunities for picnicking, camping, horseback riding, fishing, and more. You will see beautiful rushing whitewater and the oldest mountains in the US. You can drive to the top of Whitetop Mountain and see some of the oldest sediment on earth.
