March 31-April 1, 2023.

Don’t miss the second annual weekend celebration of Grayson County’s unparalleled old-time musical heritage and the legends who have influenced Appalachian String Band Music the world over.

The inaugural gathering in 2022 honoring Thornton Spencer, the legendary fiddler from Whitetop, Virginia, sold out.  The 2023 event promises to be just as popular, celebrating the life and legacy of clawhammer banjo pioneer Wade Ward with a special tribute to Grayson’s Donna Correll.

The festival includes music performances,  master-led open jams, workshops, lectures, film screenings and concerts from performers such as the The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters, The Cabin Creek Boys, Wayne Henderson,  Paul Brown,  Mac Traynham, Jerry Correll and an all-star lineup,  including performers who knew and played with “Uncle Wade” and Donna Correll.

Grab your neighbor, bring your instrument or dancing shoes and head to the Historic 1908 Courthouse in Independence on March 31 – April 1 for what will be an extraordinary weekend of music, fellowship and celebration.
