Grayson County was formed in 1793 and has a rich history of appalachian culture and music. In the eastern part of the county you will find the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Blue Ridge Music Center and the New River Trail. In the western part of the county the high mountain peaks of the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and Grayson Highlands State Park, create a splendid backdrop for the rolling pastures and meadows. The New River, travels through scenic farms and woodlands as it makes it's way northwest. Three incorporated towns are located in Grayson County; Independence, Troutdale and Fries, great places to spend the day during your visit.
